Jos Bombings: Security Agents Arrest Six Boko Haram Suspects

A source within the security agencies has revealed that no fewer than six Boko Haram members have been arrested since last Tuesday's twin blast in Jos terminus market.
The unnamed senior security officer alleged that over 100 suicide bombers might have been deployed in Jos.
He said: "Let me tell you, we are in serious trouble in this state. Do you know that since last Tuesday’s explosion more than six members of Boko Haram have been caught and arrested from various places within the city.
"All the tension and rumour you are hearing everywhere in town that some people were caught with bomb here and there in Jos are real. Don’t just call them rumour; they are real. We have discovered at least six of them since that Tuesday attack."
According to report, one Boko Haram agent was apprehended last Friday at Mobile Police barrack, the MOPOL 8 close to the Air Force base Jos and he had confessed that there were at least 100 of them deployed in Jos city to detonate explosives at identified points.
The suspect reportedly claimed that he was heading for the Airforce Hospital to deliver food to a patient on admission. But a security check on the suspect’s car revealed he was carrying explosives and he was immediately apprehended and the explosive disabled.
His arrest came on the heels of threat letters allegedly written by Boko Haram which were received at government establishments in the state capital.
The security source said, "These threat cannot be treated as mere threats, since after the twin bomb blast. Others explosive have been intercepted and the suspect already helping the security agencies on information about their mission in Jos."
Meanwhile, the Archbishop of Jos, Anglican Communion, Most Rev. Dr. Benjamin Kwashi, yesterday raised the alarm that there are six bombs planted in Jos, the Plateau State capital, that were yet to explode, urging security agencies in Jos to comb and fish out the remaining bombs planted by members of the Boko Haram sect in the city.
"There were twin bomb explosions a few days ago in Jos in which many people were killed. Just yesterday when I was about to come to Minna, another bomb exploded in Jos. We are aware that one of the Boko Haram men arrested by the security has confessed that they planted 10 bombs in the city. We are also aware that one of the bombs has been seen and detonated by the police.
"But where are the remaining six? The Police must urgently search and recover the hidden bombs to save lives and property", he pleaded.
The Special Task Force (STF) on the Jos crisis revealed yesterday that three people died from the failed suicide attack on a football viewing centre in the city on Saturday night.

JUST IN: Boko Haram's Arms Suppliers Captured By Nigerian Army

The Nigerian Army has announced the captured of three people they believe are suppliers of arms for the dreaded Islamist militant group, Boko Haram. According to reports, the suspects include a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP, and a corporal, Abu Haruna, Solomon, arrested for illegal trafficking of arms and ammunition. The Nigerian Army It was gathered that the suspects were captured in Nsukka by men of the Nigerian Army while they were travelling in a bus heading to the North from Imo State. Some of the arms and ammunitions recovered from them include 40 AK47 magazines, 4 boxes of AK47 live ammunition, 100 pieces of live cartridges, one piece of Denin Mopol khaki and charms concealed in a cap. The captured arms suppliers confessed their involvement in supplying of arms to insurgents in the Northern Nigeria. Nigeria is at a cross road and that is the explanation for this madness going on. While international community and countries like the USA, France, China, the UK are strategizing on how to rescue the over two hundreds girls kidnapped from their School in Chibok, Borno State, a Nigerian senator representing Borno North, Senator Ahmed Zanna, has said he wont tell anyone where the abducted girls are being kept.

As an insider, he was asked where the girls are, the senator said: “I won’t tell where they are being kept again because I have told the Federal Government where they are likely being kept before the video was released. Now that I saw the video, the vegetation in the clip confirmed what I have told them earlier.

“If they want to know where they are being kept, then the government should remember what I told them before. What I can tell you is that the girls are no longer here in Chibok.”

Senator Zanna made this declaration on Monday on CNN when he was being interviewed by Isha Sesay.
When the lawmaker was asked by the reporter about what he felt about the latest video released on Monday by the Boko Haram terror group showing some of the abducted school girls, the senator said he experienced mixed feelings when he saw the video.
Sen. Zanna opined that while he was happy to know that the kidnapped girls are still alive, he also informed that he felt sad to realise that the teenagers are being used as ransoms by the terrorists in exchange for some of the members captured by the military.

While saying he was privy to information about the movement of the insurgents when the girls were abducted, the Senator said he told security agents that contrary to their belief that the abducted girls were in Sambisa forest with their abductors, that they have since been split and ferried through Lake Chad to neighbouring countries among which he said were Chad, Niger and Cameroon. Senator Zanna blamed the military for failure to rescue the girls before the development given that they got all the necessary information about the movement of the insurgents from him personally.

Prophetess Sets 9yr Old Daughter Ablaze For Allegedly Being A Witch

37year old prophetess Bose Oluwole (pictured above) of the Celestial Church of Christ in Epe, Lagos has been arrested by the police for allegedly setting her 9 year old daughter, Damilola, on fire. The woman said her child was possessed with witchcraft and was trying to deliver her according to God’s instruction to her. She allegedly poured kerosene on the little girl’s body and set it ablaze.Damilola is currently at the Epe General Hospital where she is being treated for first degree burns in the emergency ward.
PM News reports that residents of her Ijebu-Ode Road, Odomola, Epe home where the incident happened immediately informed the police of her hideous crime.
During interrogation, she confessed to the crime but said she was only obeying the command of God.

“I saw in my vision while praying that my daughter is from the witchcraft world. When I prayed to God over it, I received the instruction through Holy Spirit to burn my daughter’s body in order to deliver her from the evil society.”

She was immediately charged before an Igbosere magistrate court by the police for attempted m****r but the presiding magistrate, Mrs. C. J. Momodu directed the case be transferred to a family court due to the age of the young girl. The case comes up for hearing at the Family Court on June 2nd.

Pastor rapes 12yrs old girl in Enugu

Pastor Johnson Uneabunso, a preacher at Truth and Salvation Ministry in the Iwollo environs of the Ezeagu Local Government Area of the state, was said to have defiled the girl on May 7, at about 8am.
Pastor Johnson who is the landlord of the girl’s family residence was arrested after the girl's mother, Cynthia Odii filed a complaint with the police about the criminal act.
The state command public relations officer, Ebere Amaraizu said the pastor has given valuable information which will help in the case.
He disclosed that full scale investigation has commenced with the state criminal and investigations department in Enugu.

Another Boko Haram member confessed in TB Joshua's Church

Another member of the dreaded Boko Haram sect allegedly confessed at Nigerian Pastor T.B. Joshua’s church today, stating that he was being paid N2,000,000 to bomb churches.

Nearing the end of the service, during the time Joshua’s ‘Wise Men’ were minisring ‘deliverance’ to people, an aggressive young man dressed in a shabby suit was ushered forward.

“I am one of the Boko Haram,”the man declared to the wise man, clearly under an unusual influence.“They said they would give me N2,000,000 if I went to blow up a church,”the man continued upon questioning as to how he joined the infamous group of insurgents.“Every church would be N2,000,000. They said would be give me big house and a wife.”Continue...

Boko Haram has been the focus of huge international media attention following their claiming responsibility for the kidnapping of over 200 girls several weeks ago.

Queried as to why he came to the church, the man stated,“I have been hearing of T.B. Joshua – that is why I came here.”The wise man then prayed for the man who fell heavily to the ground, before being declared free from the ‘evil spirit’.

Several minutes later, T.B. Joshua himself returned to the service simply clad in jeans and a t-shirt.“I was in the prayer room when I heard the deliverance going on and listened to the confession of this guy. What he was confessing is mind-boggling,”the cleric told the congregation.

Bringing the man back before the congregation, Joshua questioned him further as to how he was initiated into the sect.“My name is Hosea Bulus,”the man began.“They gave me blood; they gave me charms. I took it inside food.”

According to Bulus, upon taking the diabolic ‘blood’, the urge to kill and destroy entered him. “If you talk to me, I will fight you very well,”he confessed.

Joshua emphasised to the congregation that the battle was more spiritual than physical.“One thing you must know – we are fighting evil spirits that steal, kill and destroy. Let us not fight our neighbours.”

He insisted the problem was not a Muslim-Christian issue.“They are using that name as a camouflage, as a cover up,”he stated, adding that no one could bring himself to killing innocent lives without being under the influence of an ‘evil spirit’.

Joshua then prayed for the man, who fell to his knees and immediately complained that he wanted to visit the toilet.

The popular pastor reminded the congregation of the well-publicized deliverance of an alleged Boko Haram member named ‘Mustapha’ two months ago at The SCOAN who stated he came to bomb the church with four accomplices.

He explained that authorities in Abuja have certified the authenticity of his confession, contrary to the statement released by Lagos State Police Commissioner Umar Manko who initially dismissed the claims.

“At the beginning they said it’s not true but the authorities in Abuja came out to confirm that he is truly a Boko Haram member… They are following it up.”

The cleric concluded by stating he would not ask any further questions publicly so as not to undermine the intelligence Hosea would be able to provide to the relevant authorities.

REVEALED: “I Have Fresh Information On Abducted Girls” – Borno Governor Speaks

The governor of Borno State, Kashim Sheetima, said he has information on the whereabouts of about 200 schoolgirls kidnapped by the Boko Haram sect.
Shettima, according to the BBC, said he had passed reports on the sightings of the girls to the military for verification.
The governor added that he did not think the girls had been taken across the border to Chad or Cameroon.
Meanwhile, President Jonathan said an Israeli counter-terrorism team would arrive in Nigeria to help in searching for the schoolgirls, who were abducted last month in Borno State.
Both the United States and United Kingdom distanced themselves from suggestions that they would send soldiers to take part in the military operation in the northern part of the country.
“There’s no intention at this point to be putting any American boots on the ground” said U.S Defence Secretary Chuck Hagel on Sunday.
UK Prime Minister, David Cameron, said it was unlikely Nigeria would ask for British troops to help, but he added: “I said to President Jonathan where we can help, please ask, and we will see what we can do.”

Finally, US soldiers set to help bring down Insurgency in Nigeria

Following the approval of President Barack Obama for the deployment of US Marines to the troubled Nigeria for the search and rescue of over 200 school girls kidnapped by the dreaded Boko Haram sect, the troops are in Nigeria to help the country’s security services tackle increasing threats. They are described in Wikipedia as “an amphibious, expeditionary, air-ground combined arms task force, capable of forcible entry from the air, land, and sea. It is capable of asymmetric warfare with conventional, irregular, and hybrid forces. While the Marine Corps does not employ any unique combat arms, as a force it can rapidly deploy a combined-arms task force to almost anywhere in the world within days. Nigeria is playing host to the 7th World Economic Forum Africa in Abuja amid heightened security challenges. The summit is expected to be attended by over 10 heads of state and government as well as over 900 delegates from 70 countries. Presidents of Algeria, Benin, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana,Kenya, Liberia, Mali Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal,Tanzania and Togo have confirmed attendance. Former British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, and former President of Brazil, Lula da Silva, are expected to attend. Also, over 50 chief executives of big global corporations have confirmed attendance. However,because of recent blasts in Nyanya – on the outskirts of Abuja – there have been heightened fears of a possible terror attack during the summit. Nigerian government has been assuring the world that it would provide maximum security, announcing a complete shut-down of schools and government offices during the summit. 6,000-strong Nigerian security operatives, m*de up of soldiers and other security agents, have been deployed in Abuja – the heaviest security for a summit in Nigeria. For now, the US marines will first train Nigerians soldiers. The marines are highly specialised soldiers who have been deployed in areas affected by serious conflict and terrorism, such as Afghanistan and Iraq.
